Hardware Connection Requirements:
  PC Host Computer with a working parallel port (i.e. LPT1). Parallel
  cable, with Centronics connector.
  CalComp CCL 600 printer must be connected to a PC directly for this
  configuration. Network systems may require different communication
  parameter settings.

1. Setup CCL600:
   - Power ON the printer. Install (toner) cartridge, see Users Guide,
     chapter 2. Load media, see Users Guide, chapter 3.
   - Configure the printer by selecting the appropriate language emulation,
     paper size, and communication setting as described below. For further
     information, refer to the chapter on the control panel in the Users
     Guide.
     a.  Press the ON LINE key to take printer off line. Press and hold the
         MENU key until printer displays: SYS=
         Select either POSTSCRIPT format or Auto by pressing the + key until
         the appropriate selection is displayed. Then press the MENU key to
         select the setting.  NOTE: If Sys = Auto is selected, the software
         driver must send the proper language switching commands to change
         between PostScript, HP-PCL/5 and HP-GL/2 formats. If only PostScript
         is to be used, then select SYS=POSTSCRIPT.
     b.  If the printer is on line, then press the ON LINE key to take the
         printer off line, followed by pressing the MENU key until the printer
         displays SYS=.
     c.  Press the MENU key to display: HANDSHK. Press the + key  to display
         ROBUST. Press the MENU key to select.
     d.  Configure Banding Comp and Page protection as described below.

     e.  Press the MENU key to display: TRAY. Press the + key  to display ALL.
         Press the MENU key to select.
     f.  Press the MENU key to display: MPT  SIZE. Press the + key  to
         display the desired selection. Press MENU key.
     g.  Press the MENU key to display: PAPER. Press the + key  to display
         the desired paper size. Press MENU key.
     h.  Press the MENU key to display: ORIENTATION. Press the + key  to
         display the desired selection. Press MENU.
     i.  Press ON LINE key to place the printer online (ready to print).

2. Use EDIT or EDLIN to Add line to AUTOEXEC.BAT file to define COM Port
   (Add after PATH statement):
   MODE LPT1:,,P (if using parallel port 1).
   MODE LPT2:,,P (if using parallel port 2).

3. Setup AutoCAD:
   - Start  AutoCAD and from AutoCAD command line type: CONFIG.
   - At Configuration Menu choose - Configure operating parameters.
   - At Operating parameters choose 3 - Default Plot File Name.
   - Enter LPT1 (if using parallel port 1).
   - Exit to Configuration Menu.
   - At Configuration menu, choose 5 - Configure plotter.
   - At Plotter Configuration Menu, choose 1 - Add a plotter configuration.
   - From Available Plotters, choose -
     CalComp CCL600 PostScript Printer driver ADI 4.2  V2.x.
   - Select Default Paper Tray = 4 (Automatic paper selection).
   - Enter number of copies = 1.
   - Where the Plotter is connected to (Serial, Parallel) = P.
   - Communication port) = LPT1  (if using parallel port 1).
   - Do you want to change anything = YES.  Write the plot to a file = YES.
     (All others choose the defaults).
   - Enter Description of Plotter = CalComp CCL600 Printer.
   - Exit to Configuration Menu. Exit to Drawing Editor. Keep Configuration
     Changes = YES.

The clip limits for the CCL600/CCL600ES printer are as follows:
   - For all media sizes except 11 x 17 inch and A3 size: 0.197 inches on
     the bottom (trailing edge), 0.138 inches on the left and top sides, and
     0.158 inches on the right side of the media.
   - For 11 x 17 inch and A3 media: 0.236 inches on the bottom (trailing
     edge), 0.138 inches on the left and top sides, and 0.173 inches on the
     right side of the media.
   - Refer to the Users Guide, pages 3-9 and 3-13 for more information on
     printable area.
