The Windows 95 PostScript driver file (WIN95PRN.EXE) may be may be downloaded
from the CalComp Website (http://www.calcomp.com). The EXE file may be
self-extracted by typing at the DOS prompt: WIN95PRN. The README.TXT
file contains the necessary setup information.
Hardware Connection Requirements:
PC Host Computer with a working serial port (i.e. COM1 or COM2).
Serial, Null modem cable.
CalComp CCL 600 printer must be connected to a PC directly for this
configuration.
Network systems may require different communication parameter settings.
1. Setup CCL600, CCL600ES, CCL1200ES:
- Power ON the printer.
- Install (toner) cartridge, see Users Guide, chapter 2.
- Load media, see Users Guide, pages 3-6 to 3-9.
- Select paper size, see Users Guide, page 7-30 for CCL600; page 6-30
for CCL600ES/CCL1200ES.
- Select PostScript format or Auto. Note: When Sys = Auto, the
proper language switch commands may need to be sent to the printer to
change between PostScript, HP-PCL/5 and HP-GL/2 formats. See Users
Guide, page 7-20 and 7-48 to 7-49 for CCL600; page 6-20 and 6-48 to 6-
49 for CCL600ES/CCL1200ES.
- Configure Banding Comp and Page protect, see Users Guide, chapter
7 for CCL600; chapter 6 for CCL600ES/CCL1200ES.

- Press ONLINE button to place the printer online (ready to print),
see Users Guide, page 7-5.
2. Setup Win95 driver:
- Start up Windows 95.
- Click on the START button, click on SETTINGS, click on Printers.
- Click on the appropriate CalComp CCL 600 driver. (If the Windows
PostScript raster driver is not installed, install it now by selecting
the Add Printers icon on the Printers window and following the menu
selections from the ADD PRINTER WIZARD. When installation is done,
click on the START button, click on SETTINGS, click on Printers, and
click on the CalComp CCL 600 driver).
- Click on Set as Default from the File Menu Bar in the Printers window.
- Click on Properties from the File Menu Bar in the Printers window.
- Click on the Details tab.
- Select the COM port that the plotter is connected to. (Default = COM1).
- Click on the Port Settings button.
- Set Bits per sec (Baud Rate) = 9600, Data bits = 8, Parity = None,
Stop bits = 1, Flow control = Hardware.
- Choose OK in the Port Settings window.
- Click on the Paper tab at the top of the Properties window.
- Choose the paper size and orientation loaded in the printer.
- If connecting to a network: select the Capture Settings tab at the
top of the Properties window; select no banner, no tabs, and no form
feed; select the PostScript tab at the top of the Properties window;
click on the Advanced button; if using an external 981 Ethernet adapter
(or similar adapter), make sure that the default "Send CTRL+D after
job" is selected; click on the OK button to exit the Advanced
PostScript Options window
- Choose OK in the Properties window. Close Printers.
- Start the Windows Application and print to the CalComp printer.
3. Windows application programs:
- Start up Windows application program.
- Select the Print function from the File menu.
- If the CCL 600 is not the currently selected printer look for a
button called Printer or Select printer that provides a means of
changing printers.
Notes:
1. The maximum imagable area for various medias sizes are described in
the Users Guide, pages 3-9 and 3-13.
2. Some CAD programs may require establishing custom paper sizes.
