What driver to use for their system or application.
A. For AutoCAD prior to version 12 and all Non-Windows based programs:
1. There are no new drivers to install. In general, use a 907/PCI
driver selection such as a CalComp 104x, 102x, 2024, or 2036,
plotter driver. Use the serial port connection on the plotter.
B. For AutoCAD 12 or 13 (DOS, Windows 3.1x, Win 95, or Windows NT):
1. Drivers and documentation is available on the CalComp Web site
at: http://www.calcomp.com. The files are self-extracting.
Once downloaded, simply type the file name, and it will self-
extract, producing the documentation and driver files.
Use the serial port connection on the plotter.
a. File name: PLPCCDOS.EXE for AutoCAD 12 or 13 DOS.
b. File name: PLPCCWIN.EXE for AutoCAD 12 or 13 Windows
(3.x, 95, or NT).
C. For AutoCAD 14 Windows 95 or Windows NT):
1. Use the ADI driver that comes with your AutoCAD program.
However, if you experience difficulty with certain pen commands,
you may download and use the file PLPCC28.dll this file is
available on our web site, under Technical Help, File Library go to the bottom left hand corner of this screen and there is a blue
@ sign, click on the @ sign and it will bring you to the
correct directory for this file.
The file will need to be copied into the AutoCAD 14 Driver
directory.
D. For Windows 3.x based programs, including ACAD LT:
1. Use the CalComp Windows Driver. The file is available from the
CalComp Web site (www.calcomp.com) file name:
WIN31DRV.EXE. The file is self-extracting. Once downloaded,
simply type the file name, and it will self-extract, producing
the documentation and driver files.
a. The driver supports the PCI vector data format for this
plotter. Use the serial port connection on the plotter.
D. For Windows 95-based programs, including ACAD LT:
1. Use the CalComp Windows 95 Driver. The file is available from the
CalComp website (http://www.calcomp.com)file name: WIN95DRV.EXE.
The file is self-extracting. You can also download the files
95DISK1.EXE or 95DISK2.EXE, which are smaller
than WIN95DRV.EXE. This driver does not include a vector driver
(907/PCI format.) For vector plotting, use driver WIN95VEC.EXE
Once downloaded, simply type the file name, and it will self-extract, producing the documentation and driver files.
a. The vector driver supports the 907/PCI vector data format
for this plotter.
b. The WIN95DRV.EXE driver supports the CCRF raster format when
using the parallel port. CCRF was an added option for this
plotter and was not available at point of sale, your unit may
not have this option installed. This driver will only work on those units that have CCRF capabilities.
F. For Windows NT based programs:
1. CalComp has no drivers for Windows NT (all versions).
2. The only HPGL drivers available in Windows NT are HPGL/2. The
plotter does not accept this format.
G. For Macintosh based programs:
1. Microspot makes a driver called MacPlot which will work with this
plotter.
a. The driver may be ordered from Microspot (1-800-MAC-PLOT).
