The Windows 907/PCI driver file (WIN31DRV.EXE), may be downloaded 
from the CalComp Website (http://www.calcomp.com). 
Self-extract the file by typing at the DOS prompt: WIN31DRV

Hardware Connection Requirements:
  PC Host Computer with an operational serial port (i.e. COM1, COM2).
  A straight through serial cable (50 ft. max), no wires are crossed.
  HP Plotter serial cables do not work with CalComp Plotters. Must have
  pins 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8, and 20. Connect to plotter COM _1, COM _2,  or
  COM_3 port. CalComp 684XX Plotter must be connected to a PC directly
  for this configuration.  Network systems, serial buffer boxes, and/or
  plot spool programs may require different communication parameter
  settings.

1.  Setup 68436, 68444 Plotter:
   - An ASCII Terminal or a Terminal emulation program must be used to
     setup the plotter.
   - Connect Terminal to the TERMINAL port on plotter, with a straight
     through cable.
   - Set Terminal serial communication to 9600 baud rate, 8 bits, 1 stop bit,
     no parity, Hardware handshake.
   - Turn plotter on. Plotter initialization will be displayed on the
     Terminal screen.
   - When initialization is complete, press CTRL P.
     Plotter will request a USER PIN#  press 0 and ENTER.
   - At the A> prompt type COM_1 (if using Com_1) and ENTER.
   - The following will be displayed at the Terminal:  Port is enabled
   - Input Monitor Dump = NO? NO and Enter.
   - Baud Rate = ? 9600 and Enter.   Character Framing (bits, parity,
     stop bits)=? 8,N,1 and Enter.
   - Host to plotter CDCL Protocol = ? CTS and Enter.
     Plotter to Host CDCL Protocol = ? CTS and Enter.
   - Dead Job Time Out (SEC) = ? 60 and Enter.
     Time out Action = ? Force and Enter.
   - Plot Command Language = ? 907 and Enter.
     Steps Per Inch = ? 400 and Enter.
   - Plot Data Protocol = ? CTS and Enter.
     Beginning of Record Sync Character = ? $02 and Enter.
   - Number of Sync Characters = ? 1 and Enter.
     End of Record Character = ? $03 and Enter.
   - Checksum = ? NO and Enter.
   - The A> prompt will be displayed. To save the above parameters
     type: SAVE X ALL and Enter, where X = user number where the parameters
     will be saved to.  Valid values are 1 through 256.

2. Setup Windows driver:
   - Start up Windows. Double click on Control Panel.
     Double click on Printers.
   - Highlight CCP Electrostatic 68436 (or 68444) (907) on COMx. (If
     the Windows PCI/907 driver is not installed, install it now by
     selecting RUN from the File menu bar in Program Manager and selecting
     the SETUP.EXE file from the disk directory where the Windows driver is
     located. Then follow the menu choices, selecting the appropriate 684xx
     plotter driver. When done, double click on Control Panel, double click
     on Printers, and select the PCI/907 driver).
   - Choose Connect and select the COM port that the plotter is connected to.
   - Choose Settings.
   - Set  Baud Rate = 9600, Data bits = 8, Parity = None, Stop bits = 1,
     Flow control = Hardware.
   - Choose OK. Select Fast Printing Direct to Port.
   - Choose OK. Choose Setup.
   - Choose paper size loaded in plotter.
   - Choose Configure.
   - Choose Data Sync Characters X02(02).  Choose End of Buffer Code X03(03).
   - Choose No. Sync Char. One.   Choose Checksum = No.
   - Choose Device Resolution 400. Choose Job Timeout 45.
     Choose OK in Configure.
   - Choose Assign Pens.
   - Choose Application Color and map to a Pen Number, select the Pen Color,
     and select the Pen Width desired to plot with.
   - Choose OK in Pen Assignments.  Choose OK in Setup.
   - Choose Set as default printer.
   - Make sure Use Print Manager is NOT selected
   - Close Printers.  Close Control Panel.
   - Start Windows Application and print to the CalComp 684xx plotter.
