The Windows driver file for the 5017 (TJWIN31.EXE), may be downloaded
from the CalComp Website (http://www.calcomp.com). 
Self-extract the file by typing at the DOS prompt: TJWIN31

Hardware Connection Requirements:
  PC Host Computer with a working parallel port (i.e. lpt1).
  Parallel cable, Centronics connector.
  CalComp 5017 Printer must be connected to a PC directly for this
  configuration. (See Users Guide,
  pages 1-12 and 1-13). Network systems may require different
  communication parameter settings.

1. Setup TechJET personal (5017):
   - Ensure that dip switch settings under cover next to POWER button
     are set. Dip switches 1 and 2 down, all others up. (See Users Guide,
     page 1-16, 1-17).
   - Power ON the printer. Install ink jet cartridge. (See Users Guide,
     pages 1-8 through 1-11).
   - Load media. (See Users Guide, chapter 2).
   - Select print quality. (See Users Guide, page 3-6).
   - Press ONLINE button to place the printer on-line, ready to print.
     (See Users Guide, page 3-2).

2. Install the TechJET Personal Windows Driver (See Software Guide,
   Chapter 2):
   - In Windows, from Program Manager: double-click on Main, double-click
     on Control Panel, double-click on Printers.
   - Windows will display the Printers dialog box.
   - From the list of installed printers, select the CalComp TechJET
     Personal Windows Driver.
   - If the driver is not listed, then the driver is not installed.
   - Install the driver, as described in the Software Guide (page 2-9),
     or proceed as follows:
     a. Install the diskette containing the TechJET Personal Windows driver
        into the floppy drive (A: or B:).
     b. Click on the button: Add.
     c. A menu will highlight: Install Unlisted or Updated Printer. Perform
        the following: Click on the button: Install; Type the correct drive
        where the diskette was installed (A:\ or  B:\); and click on
        button: OK.
     d. The Add Unlisted or Updated Printer dialogue box appears with the
        printer CalComp TechJET personal listed. Click on the button: OK.
     e. When the driver has finished installing, Windows returns to the
        Printers dialog box.
   - In the Printers dialog box, perform the following:
     a. Click on the button: Set As Default Printer.
     b. Make sure that there is no X in the box that says: Use Print Manager.
     c. Click on the button: Setup. Select the appropriate paper size and
        orientation.
     d. Close Printers. Close the Control Panel.

Guide, pages 2-2 and 2-3.
