Setup Win95 907/Vector Driver with TechJET Color (5324/5336) Serial Port

 The Windows PCI/907 driver file (WIN95VEC.EXE) may be downloaded from the CalComp website (http://www.calcomp.com) 

Self-extract the files by typing at the DOS prompt: WIN95VEC

Hardware Connection Requirements:

 	PC Host Computer with an operational serial port (i.e. COM1, COM2).
 	A straight through serial cable (50 ft. max), no wires are crossed, AND a "null modem" or HP Plotter serial cable (available locally) 

 	The cable must have pins 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8, and 20. Connect to plotter serial port.

 	CalComp TechJET Plotter must be connected to a PC directly for this configuration.  Network systems, serial buffer boxes, and/or plot spool programs may require different communication parameter settings.

1. Setup TechJET Plotter:

(The following settings are only a guideline. Other menu selections are permissible)

	Power up plotter, and allow it to initialize
	   	Set Plot Mode to whichever mode you prefer ("Normal" is most often used)
	Set Input Resolution to 360
	Set Scale to 100%
	Set Orientation to Auto
	Set Y-Mirroring to No
	Set Media Handling to an appropriate setting
	Set Load Size to Automatic
	Set Color/Mono appropriately
	Set Pen Setup to Use Software
	Set Line Intersect to Overlay
	Set End of Plot Timer to 30 Seconds
	Set Input Buffer to 100 K
	Set Kanji Symbols to No
	Set Clean Nozzles to
	Set Stitch Factor to o
	Set Language to English

2. Setup Win95 driver:
   - Start up Windows 95.
	   - Click on the START button, click on SETTINGS, click on Printers.
   - Click on the CCP Vector Plotter driver. (If the Windows
	     PCI/907 driver is not installed, install it now by selecting Start, then Settings, printers, 
	and the "Add Printer" icon from the Printer window.
	     	Select "Have Disk" and enter the complete path where the Windows driver is located. Then follow the menu choices, selecting the appropriate 907 plotter driver. If the setup program indicates that the driver already exists, 
	           select Replace the Driver. When installation is done, click on the CCP Vector Plotter icon.

	   - Click on Set as Default from the File Menu Bar in the Printers window.
	   - Click on Properties from the File Menu Bar in the Printers window.
   - Click on the Details tab.
   - Select the COM port that the plotter is connected to.
   - Choose Port Settings.
	   - Set Bits per sec (Baud Rate) = 9600, Data bits = 8, Parity = None, Stop bits = 1, Flow control = Hardware.
   - Choose OK.
   - Choose Setup.
   - Choose paper size loaded in plotter.
   - Choose Assign Pens.
   - Assign screen colors to pen numbers.
   - Choose OK in Pen Assignments.
   - Choose OK in Setup.
   - Choose OK in the Properties Window.
   - Close Printers.
	   - Start Windows Application (Wordpad is a good choice) and print to the CalComp plotter.
