What driver to use for your system or application.

A. For AutoCAD 11/DOS, 12/DOS or 13/DOS, use the AutoCAD ADI Driver
shipped with the printer. (Driver is contained in the TechJET Personal
5017 Install disk. Refer to COMMON PART NUMBERS for part number).
B. For other DOS-based CAD software, perform the following:
1. In the application, select one of the following:
a. A CalComp pen plotter driver (sometimes listed as 907/PCI,
or sometimes listed by model: 104x, 102x, 20xx, 30xx).
b. An HPGL driver (sometimes listed as HPGL-L with supported
models such as HP7580, HP7585, HP7595 or HPGL-S with
supported models such as HP7440).
2. Plot the drawing to a file on disk. Exit from the application.
3. Execute the TJPLOT program that was shipped with the printer to
output the file to the printer. (Execute the program from the
TJPLOT directory).
4. For more details, refer to the Software Guide, chapter 3 and on
FaxBack (document 4002).
C. For all other DOS-based software (non CAD) where a CalComp TechJET
Personal driver is not available, use one of the two methods:
1. The CalComp TechJET Personal printer has two modes established at
power on, based upon the DIP switch settings.
a. The DIP switches are located next to the Power button on
the printer, under the plastic cover. The cover hinges
toward the front of the printer.
b. When a DIP switch is to be changed, first turn off the
printer power, change the DIP switch(es), and turn on the
printer power.
c. Select one of the following drivers:
i. When DIP switch 12 on the printer is up (normal
mode), select either a Canon BJ-230, BJ-200, BJ-20,
BJ-10ex/10e; IBM Proprinter XL24E, X24E.
ii. If no drivers are available from the above list, the
printer will accept Epson drivers when DIP switch 12
is down.
ii.1. If the application has Epson LQ-1050, LQ-2550,
or LQ-510 driver selections, then make sure
that the DIP switch setting is made while the
printer is off, and then use one of these
drivers.
ii.2. Be sure to reset DIP switch 12 to the up
position when attempting to use TJPLOT or the
CalComp TechJET Personal drivers.
d. For more information, refer to the User's Guide pages 1-16
and 4-2.
2. Use the TJPLOT program (shipped with the printer).
a. In the application, select a postscript driver.
b. Plot the drawing to a file on disk. Exit from the
application.
c. Execute the TJPLOT program that was shipped with the
printer to output the file to the printer. (Execute the
program from the TJPLOT directory).
d. For more details, refer to the Software Guide, chapter 3.
D. For AutoCAD 12/Windows (3.x, 95, NT), use the AutoCAD 12/Windows
driver shipped with the printer. (Driver is contained in the TechJET
Personal 5017 Install disk, part number K0103-970).
E. For AutoCAD 13/Windows (3.x, 95, NT), use the TechJET Personal
AutoCAD 13/Windows ADI Driver. The file is available on the CalComp Web Site http://www.calcomp.com. The filename is TJACAD13.EXE.
For AutoCAD 14/Windows 95 use the System Printer, set for a BJ-230 printer.
F. For Windows 3.x based software other than AutoCAD 13/WIN,
use the TechJET Personal Windows driver shipped with the printer.
(Driver is contained in the TechJET Personal 5017 Install disk,
part number K0103-970).
Note: If a driver is needed for Windows 3.1 based software, including
AutoCAD 13/WIN, it is available on the CalComp Web Site
http://www.calcomp.com. The filename is TJWIN31.EXE.
G. For Windows 95 based software other than AutoCAD 13/WIN,
use the Canon BJ-230 Windows-95 driver. The driver is included with
Windows 95.
H. For Windows NT based software other than AutoCAD 13/WIN,
use the Canon BJ-230 Windows-NT driver. The driver is included with
Windows NT.
I. For Unix-based systems, our drivers work on the Sun OS. For more
information, refer to the Software Guide, chapter 5.
J. There are no drivers available for the Macintosh.
K. The TechJET Personal software is shipped with the printer. Except where
noted herein, it is not available on the Web.
