A.    The media being used may not match the ribbons installed or the ribbon
      type setting that was selected on the printer may be incorrect. Perform
      the following:

      1.    Determine what ribbon is installed in the printer. Perform the
            following:

            a.    Open the printer cover by pressing down on the lever on the
                  left side and lifting up the cover.

            b.    Lift the ribbon cartridge out of the printer.

                  i.    If this is a 6613 (B-size) printer, then perform the
                        following:

                        i.1.  Measure a panel.

                        i.2.  If it is approximately 19 inches long, it is a
                              Tabloid or B-size ribbon.

                        i.3.  If it is approximately 12 inches long, it is a
                              Letter or A-size ribbon.

            c.    Each ribbon contains either: 1 panel (black only); 3 panels
                  (yellow, magenta, and cyan); or 4 panels (yellow, magenta,
                  cyan, and black).  Examine the ribbon to determine the
                  number of panels that are on the ribbon.

            d.    Replace the ribbon cartridge into the printer. Take up any
                  slack in the ribbon by rotating the clutch ring on the
                  right side of the take-up reel.

            e.    Disengage the cover latch on the left side of the printer
                  by pulling up on it and then close the printer cover.

      2.    Verify the settings on the printer. Perform the following:

            a.    With the printer displaying: ONLINE, press the ENTER key on
                  the printer. The printer will display: OFFLINE.

            b.    Press the Down Arrow key on the printer. The cursor on the
                  display will be on SETUPS.

            c.    Press the ENTER key on the printer. The printer displays:
                  SETUPS with the cursor on USER.

            d.    Press the ENTER key on the printer. The printer displays:
                  USER.

            e.    Press the Right Arrow key on the printer to move the cursor
                  to the PRINTER selection.

            f.    Press the ENTER key on the printer. The IMAGE SIZE is
                  displayed. If it is incorrect, press the Right Arrow key
                  once, press the Down Arrow key on the printer until the
                  desired value is displayed, and press the ENTER key on the
                  printer to accept the selection.  Note: On the 6603 (A-
                  size) printer, this size may not be changed from A-size.

            g.    Press the Down Arrow key on the printer to display the next
                  selection: RIBBON TYPE. If it is incorrect, press the Right
                  Arrow key once, press the Down Arrow key on the printer
                  until the desired value is displayed, and press the ENTER
                  key on the printer to accept the selection.

            h.    Press the CLEAR key until the printer displays: ONLINE.

      3.    If changes were made, then send the print job.  If, however, the
            settings on the printer seemed to be correct, then the problem
            requires more research.
