Generic CADD with Pacesetter Plotter - Parallel Port

Hardware Connection Requirements:
PC Host Computer with an operational parallel port (i.e. lpt1).
Parallel cable, Centronics connector.
CalComp 20xx Plotter must be connected to a PC directly for this
configuration. Network systems may require different communication
parameter settings.
1. Setup PaceSetter (2024, 2036):
- Power ON the plotter.
- Install pen(s) in turret and place turret in the Pacesetter.
- Load media (ANSI D-size is recommended).
- Make sure both pinch rollers are down.
- Press MENU button.
- Press DOWN arrow key 7 times, set ORIENTATION to AUTO.
- Press DOWN arrow key 4 times, set PLOT LIMITS to NORMAL.
- Press DOWN arrow key, set PLOT MANAGER to YES.
- Press DOWN arrow key, set PORT TYPE to CENTRONICS.
- Press DOWN arrow key, set PROTOCOL to PCI.
- Press DOWN arrow key, set SYNC # EOM CHK to SPECIAL FORMAT 1.
- Press DOWN arrow key, set PCI - # of syncs: to 2.
- Press DOWN arrow key, set PCI - sync char: to 22 dec. 16 hex.
- Press DOWN arrow key, set PCI - EOM char: to 13 dec. OD hex.
- Press DOWN arrow key, set PCI - checksum: to NO.
- Press DOWN arrow key 3 times, save the settings on USER # (1 to 3).
- Press ONLINE button twice.
- The plotter should display: ONLINE 000:00
2. Setup GenericCADD :
- Start up Generic CADD, e.g., CADD.
- From Generic CADD Main Menu select : FILE.
- From Generic CADD FILE Menu select : PLOT.
- Enter selection 1 - Send to (plotter, printer, postscript):
- Enter selection 1 - Plotter.
- Enter selection 2 - Port (COM1, COM2, LPT1, LPT2, LPT3, File):
- Enter selection for LPT1 or LPT2.
- Press ESC.
- Select 4 - Options (Configure Plotter, Pens, etc...).
- Select 1 - Configure new plotter.
- Select model number (e.g., 1023 for 2024 or 1025 for 2036), press Enter.
- Press ESC.
- Set page size 3 and view type 5 for the paper you are using and plot
scale desired.*
- Press 7 - Start Plot.
*The clip limits for the 20XX plotter are 1 inch on the bottom, and 0.5 inch
on the other three sides of the media. When setting the paper size for
Generic CADD, select a user size and set the size to the paper size, minus
the clip limits. Example: 36 in. by 24 in. media will have a user size of
34.5 in. by 23 in.
