Plotter displays: PLOT WAS CLIPPED message.

A. If the entire drawing did not fit on the media, make sure that the
plotter is functioning correctly by manually drawing a box using the
key pad on the plotter. Perform the following:

      1. Power the plotter off, wait three seconds, and then power the
            plotter back on.

      2. Load a pen in position number 1 of the turret.

      3. Load and size the media by selecting MANUAL on the plotter
            keypad.

Note: Place the rubber pinch rollers completely covering the
media before sizing the media. Make sure the back edge of the
media is loaded up against the white load line on the platen.
Some 1023's may have a media guide or small plastic tab to align
the back edge of the media.

      4. When the plotter has finished sizing the media, press the NEXT
            key once.

      5. Press the softkey for Pen Select.

      6. Select pen number 1.

      7. Use the up/down selection to place the tip of the pen on the
            media.

      8. Use the arrow keys on the plotter keypad to move the pen across
the media and draw a rectangle. Make the rectangle as big as the
plotter will allow using the arrow keys, then measure the border
            around the rectangle.

      9. Model 1023 margins, facing the front of the plotter with media
            loaded:

1.0 inch at the top/rear of the media.

0.5 inch on the left of the media.

0.5 inch on the right of the media.

0.5 inch on the bottom of the media.

Model 1025/1026 margins, facing the front of the plotter with
            media loaded:

1.0 inch at the top/rear of the media.

0.6 inch on the left of the media.

0.6 inch on the right of the media.

0.5 inch on the bottom of the media.

      10. If the plot will not fit within the rectangle, then the plot is
too big for that size of media.

B. The plotter cannot start any lower than its Point of Origin (0,0).

      1. If the rotation on the plotter is set to zero rotation:

            a. The Model 1023's point of origin/starting point is:

0.5 inch up and 0.5 inch over from the lower right corner
                  of the media.

            b. The Model 1025's point of origin/starting point is:

0.5 inch up and 0.6 inch over from the lower right hand
                  corner of the media.

      2. If the plot starts to plot higher on the media than the point of
origin, it is likely that the software is giving the plotter an
            offset instruction.

C. If the plot does begin exactly where it should on the media and the
plot still clips, use the SIZE key on the plotter menu to determine the
      size of the plot:

      1. Send a plot to the plotter.

      2. Let the plotter finish the plot.

      3. Press the EXIT key on the plotter keypad. This will pause the
plot and take the plotter off line to allow access to the plotter
            menu.

      4. Press the NEXT key twice.

      5. Select SIZE.

      6. The plotter will display the size of the plot it has received
            (e.g., x = 34 inches y =23 inches, where: x = the length of
the plot; y = the width of the plot).

      7. If the x and y values the plotter received are larger than the
plottable area on the media, then the plot will not fit.

D. Verify the scale and rotation values on the plotter. Rotation can
cause the plot file to be rotated completely off the media. Most CAD
software packages have a rotation feature. The plotter has a rotation
menu as well (early Model 1023's did not offer rotation feature, later
releases of 1023 did). To check the scale and rotation settings on the
      plotter. perform the following:

      1. Load and size media.

      2. Press the EXIT key on the plotter keypad.

      3. Press the NEXT key twice.

      4. Select SET-UP.

      5. Select SCALE/ROTATE.

      6. Verify that the plotter scale is set to 1:1.

      7. Verify that the plotter rotation is set to zero.

E. If the plot is still scaled incorrectly, note the following:

      1. Check the media selection in the software application. Confirm
that the media size selected in the software application is the
plottable area of the media loaded in the plotter.

      2. Check the software configuration menu and look for the input
resolution setting which is often calibrated in steps per inch.
Confirm that the steps per inch is set to 2032.

      3. Check the units being used. If the file is being created in
millimeters and the plotter is set for inches (or vice versa),
then this can cause an incorrect size to plot, even though the
plot preview in the software may look correct.
