Connecting/configuring the plotter to a Macintosh computer.
A. The plotter can be connected to a Macintosh computer via a Macintosh 8-
pin mini din to 25-pin serial cable.

The cable is connected from the Macintosh modem or printer port to the
port on the back of the plotter.
B. If the software does not offer a driver that supports the plotter, then
contact a 3rd party company called Microspot. Microspot offers a
chooser level driver that will work with Quickdraw based applications
(i.e., it does not support bitmapped images). The name of the driver
that Microspot offers is: MacPlot Pen Plotter Professional.

C. Configure the plotter by performing the following steps:
1. Turn the plotter power on.
2. Load and size the media.
3. Press the EXIT key on your plotter's keypad.
4. Press the NEXT key twice.
5. Select SETUP by pressing the softkey above setup (the soft keys
are the four light colored keys that surround the plotter's
display window.
6. Select HOST by pressing the softkey under HOST.
7. Select FORMAT by pressing the softkey above FORMAT.
8. Select PCI by pressing either of the bottom soft keys until PCI
appears in your window, then press EXIT once.
9. Select BAUD RATE and confirm that it is set for 9600, then press
EXIT once.
10. Select DATA by pressing the softkey under DATA.
a. Press the top left softkey to change to 8 BIT.
b. Press the top right softkey to change to 1 STOP.
c. Press either lower softkeys to select NO PARITY.
d. Press the EXIT key once.
11. Select HANDSHAKE by pressing the softkey under handshake. Press
the lower right hand softkey and choose DIRECT CONTROL. Note:
Direct control handshake is sometimes referred to as hardware or
hardwire handshake.
12. Press the EXIT key once.
13. Press the NEXT key once.
14. Select the softkey above SYNC and enter 1(one) for the top
number, enter 2(two) for the flashing bottom number.
15. Press EXIT.
16. Press the softkey above END MSG and enter 3(three).
17. Press EXIT.
18. Press the softkey below CHKSUM and press the bottom softkey to
select CHECKSUM DISABLED.
19. Press the EXIT three times and the plotter will prompt to save
these settings. If you do not have any other settings stored in
your plotter, press YES. If you already have a successful setup
that you have been using on the plotter with another CAD package,
select a different User Number to save to. The plotter has 4
unique user numbers: 1,2, 3, 4.
20. The plotter is now configured.
D. Configure the MacPlot Professional driver on the Macintosh computer:
1. Go to the Chooser and double-click on the MacPlot Professional
icon.
2. Select the port your plotter is connected to (printer or modem
port 8-pin mini-din).
3. Click on PLOTTER.
4. Select CALCOMP as Manufacturer.
5. Select Model 1023, 1025, or 1026.
6. Click OK.
7. Click on CONFIGURE.
8. Set the Baud Rate to 9600.
9. Set the Handshake to HARDWIRE.
10. Set Data Bits to 8.
11. Set Parity to NONE.
12 Set Stop Bits to 1.
13 Click on OK.
14. If using the printer port, then turn off AppleTalk by clicking on
the radial button marked APPLETALK INACTIVE.
15. Select PAGE SETUP in the application prior to sending data to the
plotter.
16. The software is now ready to send data to the MacPlot driver.
