Plot Was Clipped.

Plot Was Clipped.

A. If the entire drawing did not fit on the media, make sure that the
plotter is functioning correctly by manually drawing a box using the
key pad on the plotter. Perform the following:

      1. Power the plotter off, wait three seconds, and then power the
            plotter back on.

      2. Hand draw with the pen on a clean, scrap of media to verify ink
flow. Load this pen in position 1 of the turret.

      3. Load and size the media. Note: Place the rubber pinch rollers
completely covering the media before sizing the media.

      4. When the plotter has finished sizing the media, press the SELECT
            key.

      5. Press the key marked 1 (numeral 1).

      6. Press the ENTER key.

      7. The plotter will retrieve pen 1 from the turret and position the
            pen tip over the media.

      8. Press the key marked SP (says UP/DOWN above this key). This will
cause the tip of the pen to touch the media.

      9. Press the key marked 8 (numeral 8) to move the pen up the media
as far as it will go. Use the other number/arrow keys to draw a
rectangle. Move as far as the pen will allow for all four sides.

      10. The 104X Series have a default plot margin of .8 of an inch on
all four sides of the media. When finished manually drawing this
rectangle, a box that comes to within an inch of the edge of the
media on all four sides (plot margins) will have been drawn.
This rectangle represents the maximum plottable area on this
            sized media.

      11. If the margins are not .8 to 1 inch on all four sides, there may
be a hardware problem that is causing the plots to clip.

      12. If the rectangle is within an inch from all four sides of the
media, the plotter appears to be in good working order.

      13. If the plot will not fit within the above rectangle, then the
plot is too big for that size of media.

B. The plotter cannot start any lower than its point of origin (0, 0).

      1. If the rotation is set to zero, the point of origin/starting
            point is:

            a. 0.8 inch up and 0.8 inch over from the lower right corner
                  of the media.

      2. If the plot starts to plot higher on the media than the plotter's
origin point, it is likely that the software application is
giving the plotter an offset instruction. Some applications have
            margins which cause this.

C. If the plot does begin exactly where it should on the media and the
plot still clips, use the SIZE key on the plotter menu to determine
      the size of the plot.

      1. Load and size the media.

      2. Send the plot, let the plot begin to plot.

      3. Press the AUTO/MANUAL key to take the plotter off-line.

      4. Press the key marked NEXT/SIZE.

      5. The plotter will display the size of the received plot (e.g.,
            x = 34 inches  y =23 inches, where  x = the length of the plot;
y = the width of the plot).

      6. If the x and y values displayed on the plotter are larger than
the plottable area, then the plot will not fit.

D. Verify the scale and rotation values on the plotter. Rotation can
cause the file to be rotated completely off the media. Most software
applications offer a rotation feature. The plotter has a rotation menu
as well. To check the scale and rotation settings on the plotter,
      perform the following:

      1. Press the SETUP key.

      2. Press the 1 (numeral 1) key on the plotter keypad.

      3. Press the ENTER key. If plotter was configured with 1:1 scaling
and 0 degree rotation, the plotter display will read:

            Scale    =  0001 to 0001
            Rotate   =  0

Verify that the scale is correct.
Verify that the rotation is set to zero.

E. If the plot is scaled incorrectly:

      1. Check the media selection in the software application. Confirm
that the media size selected in the software application is the
plottable area of the media loaded in the plotter.

      2. Check the software configuration menu and look for the input
resolution setting, which is often calibrated in steps per inch.
Confirm that the steps per inch is set to 2032.

      3. Check the units being used. If the file is being created in
millimeters and the plotter is set for inches (or vice versa),
then this can cause an incorrect size to plot, even though the
plot preview in the software application looks correct. Perform
            the following:

            a. Press the SETUP key.

            b. Press 12 (press numeral 1, followed by numeral 2).

            c. Press the ENTER key.

            d. The plotter will display:

                  0 = English   1 = MET (metric)

Select the correct choice and press the ENTER key.
