Plots are clipped.

Plots are clipped.
A. When selecting a paper size in the application, select a plottable
area. The plotter is unable to plot outside of the plottable area.
1. Facing the front of the plotter, the plotter will plot with the
following margins:
a. PLOT LIMITS- Normal (Recommended): 0.5 inch margins on the
left, right, and top. The bottom, the part of the media
closest to the front of the plotter, is 1.0 inches. (Refer
to the Pacesetter Users Guide, Appendix A, for PLOT MARGINS
specification).
b. PLOT LIMITS- Expanded: 0.2 inch margins on the left and
right, 0.5 inch margin on top. The bottom, the part of the
media closest to the front of the plotter, is 1.0 inches.
(Refer to the Pacesetter Users Guide, Appendix A, for
PLOT MARGINS specification).
B. If the media is loaded incorrectly, the plotter will not measure the
media correctly. Perform the following steps to load the media:
1. Cut-sheet media is loaded from the front of the plotter.
2. With the plotter power on and the two pinch roller levers up,
slide the media over the front platen and under the left pinch
roller.
3. Position the media with the white marks on the plotter. Note: Do
not cross the white lines. Leave about 1/16 of black showing.
4. The right pinch roller housing has a white mark on it. Position
it so that the white mark lines up with the media.
5. Lower both pinch rollers.
6. Press the ON LINE button.
7. The plotter will measure the media.
a. The plotter will first measure the media from the top-to-
bottom (x-axis). The photo sensor in the left pinch roller
housing performs this measurement.
b. It will then measure the media from the left-to-right (y-
axis). The carriage will move until the carriage hits the
right clip extension.
8. For more information, refer to the Pacesetter Users Guide,
LOADING PLOT MEDIA.
C. If the application has a full preview feature, check to see if the
entire drawing will actually fit. If not, then they will need to
adjust their scaling or plot on a larger media size.
D. If the plotter is plotting the wrong size, (e.g., really large or
really small) and the scale factor on the plotter is correctly set,
note the following:
1. There are some software applications which allow changing the
steps per inch resolution. This plotter plots using a value of
2032 steps per inch at a scale factor of 100%.
2. When configuring the AutoCAD 12 CalComp v5.x drivers, the driver
will initially use 2032 steps per inch. However, if the selection
to calibrate the plotter was chosen, then this stepsize will
change. If in doubt, reconfigure the driver by performing the
following:
a. Start AutoCAD. At the AutoCAD command prompt, type CONFIG.
b. At the Configuration Menu, choose Configure Plotter.
c. Choose Change a plotter configuration.
d. AutoCAD will display the following: Do you want a different
one?
i. Select YES if familiar with the driver questions.
Select the CalComp v5.x Pen Plotter driver and simply
reconfigure the selection settings as before, except
that if the driver asks WOULD YOU LIKE TO CALIBRATE
YOUR PLOTTER, answer NO.
ii. If unfamiliar with the driver selections, then answer
NO. AutoCAD will show the current default values for
each driver selection question. Pressing enter will
not change any value. Record each default value on a
piece of paper.
ii.1. When complete, reselect Change a plotter
configuration. Answer YES to the question: Do
you want a different one?
ii.2. Enter the values that were recorded on the
piece of paper. If the driver asks WOULD YOU
LIKE TO CALIBRATE YOUR PLOTTER, answer NO.
e. Exit to the Configuration Menu. Exit to the Drawing Editor.
Keep configuration changes=YES.
3. For other AutoCAD CalComp drivers, the value is a part of the
configuration. Verify by going through the AutoCAD
config/configure plotter/change a plotter configuration. Perform
the following:
a. Start AutoCAD. At the AutoCAD command prompt, type CONFIG.
b. At the Configuration Menu, choose Configure Plotter.
c. Choose Change a plotter configuration.
d. AutoCAD will display the following: Do you want a different
one?
e. Select NO. AutoCAD will show the current default values for
each driver selection. Pressing enter will not change any
value. The selection of interest is the prompt that
displays: STEPS PER INCH. Choose 2032. If the driver asks
WOULD YOU LIKE TO CALIBRATE YOUR PLOTTER, answer NO.
f. Proceed with the configuration defaults for all other
selections.
g. Exit to the Configuration Menu. Exit to the Drawing Editor.
Keep configuration changes=YES.
4. For the Win907 driver, check the value by performing the
following:
a. From Program Manager: double-click on Main, double-click on
Control Panel, double-click on Printers.
b. Windows will display the Printers dialog box.
c. Select the CalComp 907 Printer/Plotter driver, click on the
button: Set As Default Printer.
d. Click on the button: Setup, click on the button: Configure,
and verify that the Device Resolution Steps per Inch value
matches the value set on the plotter.
e. On some versions of the driver, or if a different model was
selected than the 2024/2036, this value may be changed from
the correct value of 2032. To change, click on the up or
down arrow buttons until 2032 is displayed. Click on 2032
and that value will highlight.
f. Click on the button: OK. Windows returns to the Setup
dialog box.
g. Click on the button: OK. Windows returns to the Printers
dialog box.
h. Close Printers. Close the Control Panel.
