Plotter displays: PLOT CLIPPED message.

A. When selecting a paper size in the application, select a plottable
area. Refer to your User's Guide figure 4-1. Depending on whether
cut-sheet media or roll-feed media is used, clipping may be caused
      by the following:

      1. When using cut-sheet media, note the following:

            a. If the media is loaded incorrectly, the plotter will not
measure the media correctly. Perform the following steps to
                  load the media:

                  i. Cut-sheet media is loaded from the front of the
                        plotter.

ii. With the plotter power on and the two pinch roller
levers up, slide the media over the front platen and
                        under the left pinch roller.

iii. Position the media with the white marks on the plotter.
Note: Do not cross the white lines. Leave about 1/16
                        of black showing.

iv. The right clip housing has a white mark on it.
Position the right clip so that the white mark lines
                        up with the media.

                  v. Lower both pinch rollers.

vi. Press the ON LINE button.

vii. The plotter will measure the media.

vii.1. It will first measure the media from
                                top-to-bottom (x-axis). The photosensor under
the left pinch roller housing performs this
                                measurement.

vii.2. The plotter will then measure the media from
left-to-right (y-axis). The carriage will move
until it hits the right clip extension.

            b. For more information, refer to the User's Guide,
                  LOADING CUT SHEET MEDIA.

      2. When using roll feed, note the following:

            a. The left-to-right measurement is significant. The plottable
area in the left-to-right direction on the plotter is the
paper size minus one inch total.

            b. If the plot clips in the top-to-bottom direction on the
plotter, then check the size in this dimension.

                  i. If the top-to-bottom measurement in the plotter is
longer than 36 in. for 5424 or longer than 48 in. for
5436, then this is a long plot. the menu option LOAD
SIZE must be changed from AUTOMATIC to the extra
size desired. For example, for the 5424, an extra 12
in. would allow (36+12) 48 inches of plotting length.
For the 5436, an extra 12 in. would allow (48+12) 60
                        inches of plotting length.

ii. To set this on the plotter, perform the following:

ii.1. Remove media from the plotter.

ii.2. Press the MENU button on the plotter until the
plotter displays: MENU - USE ARROW KEYS TO
                              CHANGE.

ii.3. Press the down arrow key until the plotter
                              displays: LOAD SIZE:

ii.4. Press the right (+) key until the plotter
                              displays the desired selection.

ii.5. Press the down arrow keys until the plotter
displays: SAVE AS USER. Press the right (+) key
until the plotter displays either 1, 2, 3, or
                              4.

ii.6. Press the down arrow key once. When the plotter
displays: INTERNAL TEST, the plotter is set up.
Load the media into the plotter and press the
                              ON LINE button twice.

iii. For more information, refer to the LOAD SIZE FEATURE
                        in the User's Guide.

B. If the application has a full preview feature, check to see if the
entire drawing will actually fit. If not, then they will need to
adjust their scaling or plot on a larger media size.

C. If the plot is plotting the wrong size, (e.g., really large or really
small), verify that they have set the INPUT RESOLUTION value on the
plotter to match the driver. Note that the plotter selection: INPUT
RESOLUTION is a scaling factor; it has no effect on the plotted output
quality. (Plotted output quality is controlled by the plotter menu
      selection: PLOT MODE).

      1. Check the software value:

            a. For AutoCAD 12 CalComp v5.x drivers, the inkjet drivers use
                  360dpi.

            b. For other AutoCAD 12 CalComp drivers, the value is a part
of the configuration. Verify by going through AutoCAD's
                  config/configure plotter/change a plotter configuration.
                  Perform the following:

                  i. Start AutoCAD. At the AutoCAD command prompt, type
                        CONFIG.

ii. At the Configuration Menu, choose Configure Plotter.

iii. Choose Change a plotter configuration.

iv. AutoCAD will show the current default values for each
driver selection. Pressing enter will not change any
value. The selection of interest is the prompt that
displays: STEPS PER INCH. If valid, choose 360.
Otherwise, choose 400. Remember what value was
selected here, as it will need to be verified on the
                        plotter.

                  v. Proceed with the configuration defaults for all other
                        selections.

vi. Exit to Configuration Menu. Exit to Drawing Editor.
                        Keep configuration changes=YES.

            c. For other DOS-based drivers using a CalComp 907/PCI driver,
                  the value is usually 2032.

            d. For the Win907 driver, check the value by performing the
                  following:

                  i. From Program Manager: double-click on Main, double-
click on Control Panel, double-click on Printers.

ii. Windows will display the Printers dialog box.

iii. Select the CalComp 907 Printer/Plotter driver, click
on the button: Set As Default Printer.

iv. Click on the button: Setup, click on the button:
Configure, and verify that the Device Resolution
Steps per Inch value matches the value set on the
                        plotter.
                  v. The preferred selection is 360. To change, click on
the up or down arrow buttons until the desired value
is displayed. Click on the desired value and that
                        value will highlight.

vi. Click on the button: OK. Windows returns to the Setup
                        dialog box.

vii. Click on the button: OK. Windows returns to the
                        Printers dialog box.

viii. Close Printers. Close the Control Panel.

            e. For the raster mode (CCRF) driver, the correct value is
                  360dpi.

      2. To set the correct input resolution value on the plotter, perform
            the following:

            a. Press the MENU button on the plotter until the plotter
displays: MENU - USE ARROW KEYS TO CHANGE.

            b. Press the down arrow key until the plotter displays: INPUT
                  RESOLUTION:

            c. Press the right (+) key until the plotter displays the
                  desired selection.

            d. Press the down arrow keys until the plotter displays: SAVE
AS USER. Press the right (+) key until the plotter displays
                  either 1, 2, 3, or 4.

            e. Press the down arrow key once. When the plotter displays:
INTERNAL TEST, the plotter is set up. Load the media into
the plotter and press ON LINE.
